I want to share with you the 7 most influential books of my life so far.

First of all, I want to start out to say that I wasn’t always a big fan of books. In fact, I wasn’t all that interested in it. Before a few years ago, I had read one book from front to back which was in high school.

I felt like doing so many other things before sitting down and read a book.

There was a time when I wanted to read books to learn more and grow from it but I was mostly distracted by all the TV shows I was into, the video games I happen to play or simply scrolling through Facebook.

It wasn’t until I went in deep into my depression and finally have a slight intuition to get better than I found interest in actually sitting down and reading. But it had to be something that I felt it would help me.

I have to mention that I was living with a lot of insecurities before. I dealt with an almost consistent anxiety in everyday moments. In fact, I think I had anxiety while sleeping.

I was afraid of being out in public. I feared judgment with almost a passion.

I struggled to keep it together and just survive the day.

I was in constant battle internally with self-conscious behaviors. So much so that often times it would actually happen when I am in the comfort of my own home.

If that was the case at home, imagine the insecurities of just being in public was. I thought my head would explode because of how self-conscious I was in public spaces, as simple as going to the grocery store.

So when I say that these books have been transformational for me, I mean it.

Now it’s all perspective though. I’ve read it and got a unique perspective out of these books that fitted me for what I needed at the time I read it.

You may read it and get a completely different perspective and that’s ok. Because the perspective you get is based on the perspective you need at that moment.

In fact, for me each time I’ve read (or listened to) these books (because a couple of them I’ve read/listened to multiple times) I get a different perspective. I learn something new every time.

That’s likely because I read it with a new state of mind and perception.

There is no one way to see the world around us and within us, it’s based on our individual values and what we feel is most meaningful for us in the present moment.

And being open to any and all perspective helps you learn so much about life, people, and especially about ourselves. It makes life very interesting.

Today’s perspective can be completely transformed by tomorrow because you discover a new way of seeing something that makes so much more sense for you.

When you approach life with an open mind and open heart, life unfolds in front of you and you experience the world with so much more lightness.

You don’t have to agree to someone’s perspective at that moment and you don’t have to argue against it either. Accept it as it is. Take what fits best for you. And let the rest be as it is simply their perception of how they see it based on their individual values.

On a final note before I share the list, in mid-2017 I switched to audiobooks. I wasn’t sure at first because I felt like I was more a visual person, but after a couple of experiences, I saw that in fact, it works well for my learning style.

The other advantage of listening to audiobooks is that you can listen to it anywhere. In the car, while driving to work, in the morning while getting ready, through headphones while you walk. It’s very flexible because you can listen to every chance you get. 10 minutes here and there can get you to finish a book quickly.

So here are my top 7 books that made massive changes in perspective of my personal growth, spiritual transformation and understanding of money (in order of when I read them):

* Man Search for Meaning – Victor Frankl

* The Seven Habits Of Highly Effective People – Stephen R. Covey

* Rich Dad Poor Dad – Robert Kiosaki

* 4 Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferris

* The Power Of Now – Eckhart Tolle

* The Untethered Soul – Michael A SInger

* The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F@!$ – Mark Manson

What’s interesting to reflect on now is that at one point I went from money focused, to personal growth and eventually lead to spiritual growth.

I’ve read many other books but these are the ones I recommend the most.

Although I’ve listed them in order of when I read them, there is no particular order I’d recommend that you read them.

What I suggest is pick the one that feels best for you right now. Read up on them and pick the one that you feel most drawn to right now.

I hope that these books have as much of an impact on your life as they did for me.

Let me know what you think when you have read any of them. Or if you have read some of these, let me know your thoughts and perspective.
