I remember a time when I was laying in bed one night staring at the ceiling with my heart pounding hard in my chest, with increasing anxiety of having to go to work the next morning.
I was thinking about all the things I needed to get done. All the people that were waiting for me to fix their problems. And the projects that were due.
I was getting very dreadful about my work and wasn’t looking forward to the morning.
Does this ever happen to you?
Of course, that led me to a never-ending thought pattern that circled around and around and then went left and right with all sorts of other thoughts and worries.
My stress level was heightened and was getting annoyed by the busy overthinking mind.
I would try various different techniques to try and calm myself down, but it just wasn’t working.
My mind had the best of me and I had no hope on getting any sleep that night.
This was a regular pattern for me. Happening quite often.
There were even times when I started to get so anxious that I started to experience chest pains.
Which led to me thinking that “am I having a heart attack?”
This level of anxiety was getting scary for me. I even went to the emergencies a few times when those panic attacks occurred because I thought something serious was going on.
But it wasn’t until the last big panic attack that occurred back in 2015 that I realized something was seriously wrong with my life.
I was transitioning to a new position within the corporate company, I was also moving cities. So people could say that all those big changes can be very stressful, and I agree, especially with the very unstable mind I had back then.
But that panic attack was what I call today, my Wake Up! call.
Have you ever had one of those?
Essentially it had come to a point for my body was trying to seriously tell me “Hey! pay attention! Wake Up! Something is not in alignment”.
Physically I was totally fine. But spiritually, something was up. My heart and deeper self was trying to tell me something.
Now I didn’t pay all that much attention to exactly what that could be. For a little while, I continued to do my thing, repeating the same patterns and of course adapting to the new role and new place.
BUT here’s the thing, from that point I had started to question my life. I had started to question what was it that was causing all these anxiety attacks? Why was I feeling this way?
Answers weren’t all that clear, I guess I would say that my ego mind was trying to pull me back to comfort and to what I knew. I would also justify my life situations, convincing myself that it was normal to feel that way and that most people feel the same.
One thing that did come clear for me is my career.
I came to a clear realization that I wasn’t passionate about what I was doing. I wasn’t excited. And in fact, at the deeper core, I really wasn’t being myself (but that I didn’t see that right away).
My career was a big cause of my anxiety attacks since I was resisting my work and career. I was at a point where I was trying so hard to fit in the norms of the job. I was trying so hard to please everyone. I had all the pressure of the management team to act in a certain way.
I was essentially forcing myself to be someone I’m not so that I can be recognized and accepted.
Back then, however, I didn’t really see it that way.
But looking back on it, I know that those were the reasons why I was so anxious.
Maybe you can relate…
Now you may be asking why am I sharing this…
Maybe you’re asking ” what’s the use for me? “…
Well, let me tell you that you’re not alone for feeling this way.
Gallup.com has an article that states that 70% of Americans and 85% of the world’s workforce hates their careers. They are dealing with anxiety and stress at work due to unfulfilling work, dreadful forms, basic practices and annual reviews.
The thing is the value for fulfilling and exciting jobs is significantly more important than ever before.
People, especially millennials like me, want fulfilling work, that’s exciting, flexible and pays what they are worth.
But sometimes people want even more than just fulfilling and exciting jobs because, at the end of the day, IT’S STILL A JOB!
And In jobs, it limits your potential for growth. It limits your potential for income. It limits your potential for time freedom because you still need to trade time for money. And the majority of the time it keeps you at one place, limiting your travel opportunities.
“So how do I find that?” you may ask.
Well, I have the right answer for you, a digital business that you love.
An online business that allows you to leverage your efforts so that they can run on autopilot giving you systems to generate passive income even when you sleep.
All you need is a laptop and internet connection and you’re good to go. So you can run this from anywhere in the world as long as you have access to the internet.
Now you might have doubts about the whole internet business thing and I totally get it, I had the same doubts too.
But in case you haven’t noticed, we are big internet users now and it has certainly changed a lot of things.
So what does it all mean now?
It means HUGE opportunities for those who are ready to make a change.
The internet is allowing us as individuals to create a social business because we are now more influenced to buy from socially inspired people than buying from big brands and known celebrities.
You have an amazing opportunity now to create an online business around what you love, around your passions, around your true self. It’s something you can be proud of because it becomes an extension of who you are.
And by doing so you get to do something that is meaningful for you, you get to leverage the systems to generate passive income, giving you more freedom to live your life on your term, and you get to influence so many people around the world making your work so valuable and fulfilling.
“Now Matt, how does one get started if they have never done this before?”
Well first let me tell you that I too was a complete beginner at first.
At the time I had the same pains as you do, had the same doubts as you do, and also the same questions of “how the heck to get started?”
I was checking multiple programs. Signing up for all sorts of opportunities. But none of them were really giving me what I was looking for. They all felt like something was missing.
A lot of them were full of fluff with statements claiming that I can make a bunch of money per day if I simply “copy” their process.
But I didn’t want that and I didn’t want to waste my time.
I wanted a serious education and business opportunity that I would enjoy doing. I wanted to create something that I would be excited about. I wanted to be passionate about what I was doing and have an impact on other peoples lives.
I wanted to feel more fulfilled about my business and leverage the internet to create systems to run my business on autopilot so that I don’t have to be in it all the time making sure everything is running smoothly like a traditional business requires.
So if you’re at a point in your life and career where you’re starting to question your path. You’re at a time now that you’re losing enthusiasm for your job, and you’re starting to think of ways to get out of your career.
You want to be able to live a fulfilled life where you get to inspire other people.
You want to have more time freedom, financial freedom and be geographically free.
If you said yes to any or all of these, then what I’d like to do is share with you the biggest most impactful resource I came across on my journey to growth and escape the corporate rat race which is a FREE-Digital Business Video Series where you will learn the fundamentals of starting an online business.
